I attended alone, without our engineers, so this is not a detailed technical review of KUKA, Aiten, or Tusk, although they were there. It is a firsthand reconnaissance report about people, partnerships, and how this emerging market works.
Why did we go there?
Connectum has worked with warehouses for years, mainly on wireless infrastructure: networks, coverage, and equipment positioning. The warehouse of the future also depends on robots that move, pick goods, and deliver them to packing areas.
We want to help automate workflows as well as provide connectivity. The aim was to find a partner among developers of warehouse automation and robotics software.
What did you learn about Yandex as a partner?
We learned how Yandex selects contractors and integrators. Several factors matter:
- Working projects. Yandex values deployed results rather than presentation slides or credentials alone.
- Willingness to develop. Warehouse robotics is still a young field in Russia. Partners need to learn and adapt, rather than arrive with every answer.
- Understanding the customer. Yandex works with segments ranging from retail to large-scale logistics. Integrators must understand business processes as well as hardware.
What comes next?
We are at the beginning. There is no signed contract or finalized partnership yet, but we have a clearer direction.
We know where to focus and which skills to develop. Warehouse robotics in Russia is already part of day-to-day business, rather than a distant prospect.
Connectum continues to expand from wireless networks into integrated warehouse automation. Follow our news for further developments.
P.S. If your warehouse needs both reliable Wi‑Fi and ideas for robotics, get in touch. We can explore the options together, even if ready-made integrations are not yet available. Progress starts with taking the first step.
