Technologies and applications

1. Simple architecture

Cisco Embedded Wireless Controller (EWC) runs on an access point, avoiding a dedicated controller. If the host access point shuts down or fails, control transfers to the backup.

— Use a higher-capacity controller access point such as C9120AX-EWC-x or C9130AX-EWC-x in a server room with uninterruptible power.

— Connect the remaining access points within the same Layer 2 domain; they join EWC with local traffic switching.

— Connectum can configure the system.

2. Included licensing

Network Essentials is included with the access point. No additional licenses are required, avoiding the risk of feature blocking associated with sanctions against Russia.

3. Scalability

EWC supports smaller business networks with up to 100 access points and 2,000 client devices.

4. Variety of models

Models include ceiling-mounted office access points, in-room hotel units, and versions with external antennas for targeted coverage.

5. Supply

Cisco Catalyst 9100 is available to order despite the sanctions.

Where it is used

The Catalyst 9100 range supports a wide variety of premises.

Office spaces

Catalyst 9105AXI suits small, lower-density offices. Cisco 9120AXI can serve meeting rooms or act as the controller.

Warehouse facilities

Warehouse aisles benefit from directional antennas. Catalyst 9115AXE and 9120AXE provide external antenna connectors; antenna direction is selected during site-specific design.

Hotels and accommodation facilities

The 9105W supports in-room hotel installation. The 9105AX suits floor lobbies, restaurants, and lobby bars, while 9115AXI or 9120AXI serve larger meeting rooms.
